The Leadership Partnership of Rhode Island is comprised of a group of Rhode Island employers brought together by a common need for leadership development. We are funded by Real Jobs RI to offer professional development and support to leaders in our organizations.  We accomplish this with the help of the University of Rhode Island by offering multi-level leadership development training programs and mentoring opportunities.
 

The Advisory Board includes Toray Plastics, AstroNova, Dominion Diagnostics, Arnold Lumber, and Cooley Group Coaching

LEADERSHIP COACHING

Training of New and Emerging Business Leaders

 

"Being a Leader" leadership training is designed by industry leaders to prepare, develop, and support new and emerging leaders.  Training is provided by experienced instructors in business leadership skills and is funded by REAL JOBS RI.  This training program is available free of charge to individuals who want to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to become company leaders.

Leadership Training Program:

  • 36 hours of training over 12 sessions

  • Competency-based classroom instruction

  • Mentoring from an experienced leader

  • On-the-job training plan to transfer learning

  • Earn 3.6 CEUs from URI

​

MENTORING

Mentoring is an important part of the Business Leadership Program.  Students work with mentors who are leaders in business.  Mentor relationships provide support and guidance for course projects and other leadership-related  areas.  Through these one-on-one relationships, students' knowledge, skills, and confidence continue to grow as they become new business leaders.

Mentor Training Program:

  • Designed for experienced leaders

  • 18 hours of training over 6 sessions

  • Earn 1.8 CEUs from URI

  • Membership in Mentoring Network​

OJT & PROJECTS

On the Job Training (OJT)

​

Each student in the Business Leadership course takes part in OJT, which is coordinated with their Leadership Mentor and the BLP course instructor.  Students develop personalized applied course projects, and present these projects upon graduation from the Business Leadership Program.
